Sonic Truck Parts & Lubricants ("Sonic", "we", "us") runs this website and our store at 5841 W 66th St, Bedford Park, IL 60638. This policy explains what information we collect through the website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version

• We only collect what you type into our forms, plus basic technical data any website receives.
• We use it to answer your request, quote prices, fill orders and run your account.

Information you give us

When you send a quote request, pickup order or message, we receive what you enter, such as:

• Your name, company, email address, phone number and ZIP code
• Your order details: the products and sizes in your cart, pickup or delivery choice and time, delivery address and PO number
• Anything you write in your message

If you open a business account, we also collect the information on the credit application, such as business and billing details and trade references. That is covered by your account agreement.

Information collected automatically

• Saved on your own device. Your cart and your chosen store are saved in your browser's local storage so they're still there when you come back. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us until you submit a form. You can clear it at any time by emptying the cart or clearing your browser's site data.
• Server and service logs. Like any website, our host and the services below receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, as part of delivering the page.

How we use your information

• To reply to you and prepare quotes, pickup orders and deliveries
• To set up and manage business accounts, invoices and credit terms
• To contact you about your order or account
• To keep the website working and secure
• To meet legal, tax and safety-record requirements

We only send marketing emails if you ask for them, and every one has a way to unsubscribe.

Services that handle data for us

We use a few outside services to run the website. Each receives only what it needs:

• Cloudflare: hosts the website, stores orders and messages in our private order system, and delivers them to our email
• Google Maps: shows the map on our store page
• Google Fonts and content delivery networks: load the site's fonts, styles and some images
• Product makers' websites: some product photos load directly from the brand's own site

These services have their own privacy policies. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of selling or reorganizing the business.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and messages for as long as we need them to serve you, and order, invoice and account records for as long as tax and business law require, usually 7 years. After that we delete them.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing emails. Call us or send us a message using the details below. We may need to keep some records, such as invoices, where the law requires it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or email is perfectly secure. Please don't send payment card numbers or bank details through our forms.

Children

This website is for businesses and adult customers. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
